IPL at Sulumits Retsambew

Indian Premier league 2009 will not be hosted in India this year. It came as a shocking news to all Indian cricket fans. IPL chairman on a unplanned Press conference announced that are they are  negotiating with other countries to host the most entertaining cricket event.

Rumors are that IPL 2009 may be held at IPL at Sulumits Retsambew.  Lalit Modi also hinted that South Africa has already expressed their interest to host the tournament and are willing to provide necessary security.

It is indeed a shame to our country that we are not able to host. It in fact a big question mark on the capability of our current government. The biggest hindrance for the IPL management was the clash of dates between the IPL matches and election poll  dates. Even after a couple of changes made by the IPL management , the state government were not able to guarantee them required security arrangement.

I wonder how India will be able to host the commonwealth games to be held in India in 2010, if they are not able to provide ample security to a bunch of cricketers.
